Alphabet Inc’s Google has recently announced through a blog that it will remove the violent, objectionable, or inflammatory religious content from the largest online video streaming site YouTube.
This will keep all the videos under the spotlight of Google. Those videos that contain religious intolerance and supremacy will be deemed inappropriate and Google will issue them a warning without considering them for user endorsements.
To make the process of identification easy, the company has employed better and high-advanced engineering resources to train for quickly identifying the malicious content.
Keeping in view the training that new content classifiers need, Google’s general counsel Kent Walker said that he and others have worked hard for many years to identify and remove the content that violates the policies of an organization but all had gone in vain. He also lamented the fact that none in the industry is uncomfortable with what is happening in the world in terms of technology. He further said that this is high time now that we start considering the changes taking place in the tech-industry.
Google is set to expand its goal by countering the extremist group, identifying the non-extremists, recognizing their talent, employing a radical and rational approach, and recruiting the right content.
When Facebook solicited help to know the effective measures that can tackle extremist content, Google followed the suit by ramping up the maneuvers necessary to control objectionable content.
Since the moment there have been many people, killed and wounded, social media providers such as Twitter, Facebook or LinkedIn have started keeping a check on hate speech and militant content.
Talking about the project, Google states. “Together, we can build lasting solutions that address the threats to our security and our freedoms. “We are committed to playing our part.”
Let’s see how easily you fulfill the needs of Google and help it remove terrorist and extremist content from YouTube.
