Facebook has launched Watch on Demand; worldwide

After a successful one-year trial phase in the US, Facebook is finally launching its video content platform “Watch” all over the world. The video on demand platform will be available everywhere now, giving serious competition to YouTube.

The Facebook watch is a different platform for video content creators. “Watch” supports various types of shows that could be aired on the platform as episodes also. It is a great tool if the video content creators their series of videos, such as daily blogs, cooking shows or a set of videos with constant characters and stories.

According to Facebook the aim of introducing the tool is to provide a wide ranged platform for the video creators with unlimited access to the audience worldwide and to monetize their work.

Right now creators based in Ireland, UK, Australia and New Zealand will be able to earn money through their content by adding breaks with advertisements. Additional 21 countries will be added in September whose content creators can also monetize their videos.

With the launch last year, Facebook broadcasted two shows on Watch, and with time there are numerous shows airing now of different genres like drams, comedy shows, reality TV shows, talk shows sports and many more.

The ratio of viewer engagement has also increased immensely. Approximately, 50 million people tuned to “Watch” for at least a minute every month and the complete time span spent is constantly increasing by 14% since the start of the second year.

Show pages

With show pages, the content creators are able to easily record the episodes and upload them. They are designed and developed in such a way that the audience can conveniently understand the story or theme of any show, interact with the other viewers and form a community with the people of similar tastes.

The platform is quite socially inclined to keep the spirit of the social media giant alive. Viewers can see their friend’s choices, the shows they have liked or shared. Facebook also plans to introduce various communicating features for the latest shows.

The company stresses on creating a platform for the content creators that could provide them ample opportunities to directly connect to their audience and interact with them personally. The tool will provide the video loggers with a whole new platform to share their content and reach a wider audience with an opportunity to earn from their content.
