Die with me- an app to use when your battery is under 5%

January 22, 2018

We all know that how smartphones have emerged to be one of the highly trending industry in the last 10 years, however, there is one thing that we have always faced, in-appropriate battery life. Nokia perhaps was considered to be the best phone with very high battery life previously but since its downfall, the maximum battery of a smartphone only lasts 6-8 hours. The use of mobile apps have rose and with this, the smartphone uses extra battery life to function with full potential.

To overcome this, I came across a text messaging mobile application allowing the people to communicate through text when their battery is less than 5%. Well, this is surely not a joke and this app is available for both iOS and Android users. Die with me, is the mobile app which should be used when your battery is less than 5% and can be utilized to do something positive. The app was initially launched as a dating app and was designed to connect people even if the battery of their smartphone is very low.

App functionality

The application appears to have various features and functionality. The mobile app takes your phone’s battery into account and displays the battery right next to every message, the battery bar illustrates the battery power in terms of percentage and allows the other person to have a better idea of how less your phone’s battery is. The users can only send text messages. There is no option of sharing pictures or videos.

Why such apps are important?

Having such mobile applications are very important to integrate. Imagine a situation where you are stuck in an exposing and threatening environment and as usual your smartphone has very less battery which may allow you to communicate with someone who could help you.

The app is also allowing people to interact with each other a whole new level. The app was initially launched for individuals who are finding the right person to go out with for the rest of their life.

Drawback:

The only drawback that I have come across is that individuals will not be able to share pictures and videos. This is a limitation which may be rectified in future with updates.  However, if any individual who is looking to utilize their low battery, the only aim that they will have will be to communicate with the person and not to share pictures.

Conclusion

Such type of mobile applications is essential for users who face low battery problems. Nevertheless, the smartphone industry is looking to incorporate better battery standards but still, they failed to match the long life battery of Nokia. To overcome such problems it is very important to develop mobile applications which allow the users to remain safe and contact people even if the battery is very low.
